THE BRISTLES - DON'T GIVE UP EP + BOYS WILL BE BOYS EP

Sunday, December 16, 2007

THE BRISTLE's name was taken from the classic GBH album "Leather, Bristles, Studs and Acne". Singer Wiking was kicked due to different view on things; some say he had strong right wing tendencies and a real communist hate...clearly obvious after the singer took off to Afghanistan to join the Islamic Mujahedin to fight the Soviet forces. Puma, who had earlier played in Black Uniforms, took the mic. They played about 75 gigs during the three years they existed. DON'T GIVE UP is the bands first album. Unlike other Swedish bands at the time, The Bristles choose to sing their songs in English.

BOYS WILL BE BOYS is the second EP by the Bristles from Landskrona, Sweden. After their first EP from ´83, they´re back with a new shouter. The old singer left the band after the first EP and was replaced by Puma. Many people say that the second Bristles EP isn't as good as their first one. I like both and it is a great Swedish HC record. I have seen many copies of their “Don´t Give Up” EP in my life but only two copies of the second EP. They released a third EP at the end of the 80´s after changing their name to Bristles D.C.
